Practice times: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 6:00-7:30 (or dark) starting from the GMA track. Late in the fall we move up practice to 5:30PM due to the earlier sunset.

Races: AOC competes in the PEXCC (Philadelphia Express Cross Country Series). Races are at Belmont Plateau on the following dates: Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29, Oct. 13, 20 and 27 (the 27th is the Championship) Races begin between 7:45-8:30

Distances: 6-8 and Under--2k(1.24 miles), 9-10--3k(1.86 miles), 11-12--3k(1.86 miles), 13-14---4k(2.5 miles), 15 and older --5k(3.1 miles)

Our meets are typically on Saturdays.

All of our practices start at the Gwynedd Mercy Academy Track.  Any parents who wish to run with us are more than welcome as we are always looking for additional helpers at practice.

We will spend the first few weeks, prior to our first meet, building base and getting fit enough to train harder later in the season.   That said, coming into the season with some level of fitness is suggested.  This is especially true with our athletes who are older.  Course can vary in terms of difficulty based on terrain but the distances will remain the same (with the exception of the Footlocker Championships which has 13-14 run 5K).   Boys and girls run in separate races.

AOC competes in the Philadelphia Express league for our regular season meets and these meets are held at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.   Our first meet will be September 17th.   We may substitute one regular season meet with a meet with the Seashore Striders in southern Delaware.  Our post season starts with our league championship October 28th and the we will compete in the Cross Country Coaches East Regional either November 3rd or 10th.   AOC hosted last year and due to some logistical issues for this years host club we may be assisting once again with the meet at Tyler State Park.  News on the Regional will follow in the next few weeks.

After regionals we have a few additional meets.  For those that qualify we have the Cross Country Coaches Nationals which is in Ohio November 23rd.  We will also be entering interested athletes 9 and older in the Footlocker Cross Country Championships on the hallowed Cross Course in Van Courtlandt, Park,  New York!   For those that want one more meet the AAU Nationals is December 7th and for the Mid-Atlantic Region this is an auto qualifier so any AOC athlete can enter.
